ETF Mining Trucks
ETF developed a new and innovative mining truck range which combines the features of Large Haul Trucks and Articulated Dump Trucks. Because of the All-Wheel-Drive and All-Wheel-Steering capability, ETF trucks operate in both off-highway and off-road conditions.
ETF trucks have a payload from 200 up to 800 metric tonnes per vehicle. Due to the modular design there is always a truck that meets the requirements of your project.

- All truck types share the same width (7.6 m) and height (6.3 m) — even the 800-tonne truck uses the same haul road as a 200-tonne truck.
- All types available in Haul Train configuration with All-Wheel-Drive, All-Wheel-Steering, ABS and Traction Control.
- All major components are identical — larger trucks simply carry more of the same axles and wheels.


Narrower haul roads
All ETF trucks have All-Wheel-Steering, achieving a very short turning radius. ETF trucks and Haul Trains need a total road width of only 24.16 metres. Compared to existing large haul trucks, roads would need to be 3.68 to 7.22 metres wider, depending on truck type.
Narrower roads with ETF equipment deliver between 1,656,000 and 3,249,000 BCM of additional mine output, plus cheaper haul road construction and maintenance.

Higher utilisation — in any weather
Downtime for checking tyre pressures, topping up lubricants and cleaning lamps and mirrors is a task of the past: all of it happens automatically during operation.
Production delays due to slippery roads during heavy rain or snow belong to the past. While conventional trucks are parked until conditions improve, the fully integrated All-Wheel-Drive and ABS braking system keeps the ETF fleet in full-time operation.

Superb truck stability
Stability issues of conventional large haul trucks — body swaying, frame cracking — are issues of the past. Undulations on haul roads and loading impacts are absorbed by the advanced hydro-pneumatic suspension and oscillating axles fitted to ETF Mining Trucks and Haul Trains. Operator comfort and safety are now the best in the industry. Haul road maintenance is not as critical as it is essential operating conventional truck fleets.

No tyres. No flat tyres.
One of the biggest limitations of current haul trucks is the tyres: high cost, and downtime from flats that erodes technical availability. ETF's new suspension system makes it possible to operate without tyres — all ETF equipment runs on special wheels with rubber profile.
No more flat tyres means higher technical availability.

Component exchange, not roadside repair
ETF achieves extremely high technical availability by exchanging components instead of repairing them on the vehicle. Trucks continue operating while components are repaired in the workshop. Wheels, batteries and cabins change in 15 minutes — and spare-part stock levels stay low while the right component is always available.
